Czy muszę mieć filmik na serwerze, żeby go odpalić na stronie, czy mogę go np. przekierować z innej strony np z youtube, czy przekierowania obciążają mój transfer czy transfer serwera youtube??

Nie musisz filmiku mieć u siebie na serwerze. Wystarczy, że zainstalujesz dodatek np. AllVideos Plugin i w prosty sposób możesz pokazywać filmiki na swojej stronie (nie obciążając oczywiście transferu) z takich serwisów jak:
